ACCOMMODATION

Most major campus will have three living options available: Residence Halls, Host families and selected flats that students can rent on their own. Students are guided and advised by staff members to choose accommodation option that best suits their needs.

LIVING COSTS

Apartment rentals in Mexico generally cost 250 to 350 USDlls per month in major cities. In cheaper locations, rental costs can be around 120 to 200 USDlls per month. Monthly expenses on food and groceries in Mexico can be 150 – 200 USDlls. There is a wide range of options in case you are eating out. You can enjoy a good meal at 8 USDlls. Luxurious restaurants are very expensive in Mexico and cost you $100 per meal.

VISAS

Students from outside Mexico must obtain a Student Visa (FM3) before they arrive to Mexico. Our International Programs Office will help you solve your doubts about Immigration. As an international student, you are asked to have and present the following documents: A valid passport, a student visa (FM3), proof of financial solvency (such as credit or debit card statements for the cards you will use while in Mexico).

STRUCTURE OF UNIVERSITY

Tecnológico de Monterrey offers the services of consulting, applied research, technological development, and laboratory studies to businesses, through 25 Research Centers, which are directly managed by the corresponding Academic Divisions. These Centers specialize in the areas of manufacturing; digital technology; electronics and communications; the environment and basic resources, such as water and energy; quality and biotechnology, among others. Researchers and professionals, with the support of graduate students, develop an average of 300 projects per year at these Centers.

Education Structure 
Tecnológico de Monterrey is not divided into schools, but into various departments of study. When degree seeking students enroll, they choose their major ,and, over the 9-10 semesters of their education, attend classes within those departments that satisfy their credit requirements. Class size averages 30 students. Teamwork, small group projects and student participation are all highly encouraged by your professors.

STUDENT LIFE
